The Eisteddfod movement is alive and well in North Queensland.
This annual performing arts festival features Adult Choral, Vocal, Instrumental, Speech and Drama Sections.
There are three large choirs from Cairns, Townsville and Mackay. In 2009 these choirs were joined by a small group of enthusiastic singers from Charters Towers, which had not been represented by a choir for over forty years.
